Teeth in a Day®: How It Works

Initial Consultation

During your initial consultation, your dental care provider will examine your mouth to determine if you’d make a good candidate for the procedure. You’ll have a better chance of success if you practice good oral hygiene, don’t smoke, have enough jawbone in the area with missing teeth, have no history of teeth grinding, and have good overall health.

Planning

If you’re a candidate for Teeth in a Day®, your dentist will create a personalized treatment plan with detailed information about your dental implant placement and prosthetic teeth design.

Implant Placement

The dentist will administer local anesthesia before surgically inserting the dental implants into your jawbone. The number of teeth needing replacements and your jawbone’s condition will determine the number of dental implants they’ll install. You should feel little to no discomfort during the procedure.

Prosthetic Teeth Placement

After the dentist installs the implants, they’ll attach a set of temporary prosthetic teeth to the biocompatible implant posts. Although they aren’t permanent, these prosthetic teeth will look, feel, and function like natural teeth. Besides allowing you to chew your favorite foods, your temporary teeth will enable you to speak normally.

Follow-Up Appointments

You’ll need to schedule several follow-up dental visits over the next few weeks and months to ensure the dental implants fuse correctly with your jawbone. Once your implants have fully integrated, your dentist will replace the temporary prosthetic teeth with a permanent set.
